Your privacy, our priority
At Heart Therapy NI, we are committed to protecting your personal information and respecting your privacy. This policy was established in February 2026 and outlines how we collect, use, and safeguard your data.
How we use your information
The information we collect is used to respond to your enquiries, provide and improve our services, and ensure the security of our website. We are dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of digital security and professional ethics in handling your data, aligning with our commitment to clinical integrity.
The standard of care
Your privacy is the foundation of our therapeutic relationship. We maintain your information in accordance with professional ethical standards as set out by the regulatory and professional bodies in which each therapist is regulated or accredited with, i.e. Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
With your explicit consent, the information gathered may be shared with the associate therapists who form part of the professional Heart Therapy NI team. Each therapist holds ICO certification to ensure compliance with GDPR and adheres to the retention of clinical material in line with their regulatory and professional body standards.
Please note, each associate therapist operates as a self-employed practitioner and is legally and ethically responsible for their own practice.
Your privacy is protected
We take the security of your personal information seriously. This website uses Industry-Standard SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) Encryption to protect all data submitted through our contact forms.
This technology establishes an encrypted link between your browser and our server, ensuring that your name, email, and message remain private and protected from unauthorized access. You can verify this by looking for the padlock icon and/or the https:// prefix in your browser’s address bar.
Protecting your digital footprint
Any personal identifiers collected are stored on secure, password-protected servers with restricted access and two factor authentication.
This website uses Google Analytics which is set up in such a way that IP addresses are anonymised. Google is not permitted to use the data for other services. This means no traceable data is processed. A function cookie is used to simply to verify the website owner. This doesn't affect service user privacy.
Client confidentiality
We are committed to providing a safe and confidential service. Our legal obligation to maintain your confidentiality has specific limitations and exceptions which may mean that we need to release your information when certain circumstances arise that include:
- Safety: If there is a clear and imminent risk to yourself or others.
- Abuse: Reported or suspected abuse of a child, young person or adult.
- Legal Action: If a judge issues a court order or subpoena for your clinical records.
Please note, that we align our therapeutic services to safeguarding children and vulnerable adult policies and procedures.
