I am Mandy with 15 years of experience as a therapist and I am also a Clinical Supervisor. I have supported adults, children and young people in processing trauma and reconnecting with their sense of safety, strength, and self-understanding. I believe psychotherapy is a collaborative process that helps people understand themselves, develop resilience, and work through emotional, mental, or behavioural challenges.   In simple terms, therapy is a safe, confidential space to talk, reflect, and learn tools to improve well-being. As a therapist my goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where individuals feel heard, understood, and empowered to navigate life’s challenges. I have extensive experience working with a range of presenting issues, my current work specialises in trauma, bereavement and relationship issues. My work draws on an integrative therapeutic approach including play therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) to support healing and emotional regulation.

Psychotherapy is the quiet work of turning insight into healing and awareness into change”

Areas of Specialism and Focus

Trauma

My area of focus is working to help client's renegotiate their traumatic experience and repair from trauma. In this work I specialise in supporting many of its symptoms; low self-esteem, anger issues, depression, anxiety and prioritising others at a cost to ourselves.

Anxiety

Anxiety is a common symptom that I work with. Often we feel anxiety as a physical sensation in our stomach and chest which can trigger us to over-think. Quite often our worry is exacerbated by both how alone we feel and not knowing what is  triggering our anxiety. I can offer you the therapeutic tools to soothe and relieve your anxiety to  become less controlled by it.

Relationships

I work with issues relating to attachment, separation/divorce, family relations, narcissistic abuse, self-concept and self-image.

Bereavement and loss

I have worked with people of all ages who have experienced complex grief of many kinds. I offer you a way to grow around your grief, so that you don’t have to ‘move on’ but rather ‘forward’ with your unique and valued sense of loss.

Chronic Pain

I have worked with many people living with chronic pain, supporting  them to have a deeper and more compassionate understanding of why their body’s Nervous System is compromised with such pain. Such quality of validation can relieve symptoms of pain and in turn, aid emotional regulation.

My Therapeutic Approach

Integrative Therapy

Drawing on different therapeutic models and techniques to meet each client’s unique needs, rather than using a one-size-fits-all method. Instead of asking “Which therapy is best?”,  an integrative therapist asks: “What does this person need right now?”

Play Therapy

A therapeutic approach that helps children express and process their emotions through play, rather than relying only on words.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)

A structured, evidence-based therapy used to help people process and heal from trauma and distressing life experiences.
