My name is Tanya and I am an HCPC registered Art Psychotherapist. I bring 3 years of direct clinical experience supported by a 22-year background in community arts, engagement, and education. While I specialise in supporting children and young people navigating neurodivergence (Autism & ADHD) and trauma, I am also passionate about extending this inclusive, sensory-led support to adults. I believe therapy is a collaborative journey of discovery. It is not about "fixing" what is broken, but about providing a dedicated space to explore your story, process difficult experiences, and reconnect with your inner strengths through both conversation and creativity. My goal is to provide a safe, inclusive, and neuro-affirming space where you feel truly seen and supported while exploring your inner world at your own pace. My intention is to offer a wide range of materials tailored specifically to your needs. By using creative tools and the calming, sensory nature of textiles. I will help you find ways to express difficult feelings, feel more grounded, and build your own path to resilience.

“I offer a safe, sensory space where the rhythm of creativity acts as an anchor, helping you to express what words cannot and gently navigate your path toward repair”

Areas of Specialism and Focus

Trauma

A stable, nurturing, and safe environment for effectively navigating the complex challenges of trauma, anxiety, depression and significant life transitions.

Child and Adolescent Mental Health

Supporting young people through anxiety, depression, self-harm, and school-related social or emotional difficulties.

Neurodivergence

Specialist support for Autism, ADHD and Dyslexia, focusing on communication styles and sensory processing.

My Therapeutic Approach

Pluralistic Art Psychotherapy

I don’t follow a "one-size-fits-all" model; instead, I draw from different therapeutic theories to ensure the support fits your specific goals and preferences. We work as a team to decide which creative tools or talking methods help you best. It’s about giving you choice and agency in your own healing.

Sensory-based & Tactile Art Therapy

A unique specialism in textiles (weaving, stitching, and fabric) as a grounded "anchor" for emotional regulation. Focuses on the "feel" of materials. This is particularly beneficial for neurodivergent clients or those with trauma, as it helps regulate the nervous system without needing immediate words.

Person-Centred Therapy

This ensures you are the expert on your own life. I provide empathy and a non-judgmental space so you feel safe enough to grow.

Trauma-focused

Prioritises your safety and stabilisation. We work to ensure you never feel overwhelmed, focusing on building a sense of "internal home" and security.
